WINGS ACADEMY X SCHOOL OF INNOVATION

Wings Academy School of Innovation (SOI) with an increased focus in Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Math for families with students in grades Kindergarten-Eighth. Our ultimate goal is to educate and better prepare students for a future in fields historically under served by students in urban communities.Students who are innovative, posses the ability to SEEK, OBSERVE and INQUIRE with respect to the information gained from these processes. Students begin to develop a growth mindset, increase their critical and creative thinking skills via project-based learning lessons; which expands students’ exposure to these fields that can foster a future in STEAM education and careers! As we complete preparations for the 2025-2026 school year; we’re excited to announce (2) initiatives below:

 Full STEAM Ahead…Career Exploration – Grades 6-8

This fall, our middle schoolers’ will be relocated to a redesigned instructional space on the first floor with an academic program that includes an expanded focus on career exploration via lectures, real-world experiences, research and project presentations with industry professionals and/or professors including…coding, engineering, agriculture, art, broadcasting, armed forces, photography etc… Thus, all students in grades K-2 will be relocated to classrooms on the second floor with a dedicated space for sensory/motor skill development and technology, increased access to positive intervention supports, and makerspace offerings. More information soon!

Raising Families, Friends and Funds…Family Engagement and Community Outreach

As funding for schools across the state has decreased; a dedicated staff member will focus on engaging families, stakeholders and community partners to launch our BFF fundraising campaigns and increase volunteer invitations and opportunities; thereby furthering our partnerships and expanding efforts to support all students school-wide.

Day in the life of a Wings Student…

Students are anticipated to arrive on or by 8:30 am, participate in random book bag checks, turn off and store cell phones in the required area and report to the multi-purpose room on the first floor for breakfast.

Minute By Minute, Hour By Hour, If You Lose Your Faith You Lose Your Power

Minute By Minute, Hour By Hour, If You Lose Your History You Lose Your Power

If it’s To Be Its Up To Me.

I Feel Good About Myself. I Feel Good About The People Around Me. I Feel Goodness All Around Me And It Will Follow Me For The Rest Of My Life.

Because I Walk With Good And I Talk With Good And I Am Good And That Feels Real Good.

Good, Better, Best, Never Let It Rest Until Your Good Is Your Better And Your Better Is Your Best.

Minute By Minute, Hour By Hour, If You Regain Your Faith You Regain Your Power

Minute By Minute, Hour By Hour, If You Regain Your History You Regain Your Power

Young People You Were Once Great And You Will Be Again. Lose Not Faith, Lose Not Courage. Go Forth And Uplift The Race.

Harambee, Harambee, Harmabee, Harambee, Harambee, Harmabee; Harmabee
